Comparison between Inglorious Bastards and Miracle  at St. Anna 

Inglorious bastards is a war thriller that was written and Directed by Quentin Tarantino in 2009. This film has a multiple narrative, a multiple narrative describes a type of story that follows several protagonists rather than focusing on one main character. Inglorious bastards stars Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, Melanie Laurent, Eli Roth, Michael Fassbender and Daniel Bruhl. The Inglorious Bastards are a group of Jews fighting in World War II pursuing revenge for the Holocaust carried out by the Nazi's. The Themes of Inglorious bastards are violence, revenge, gore, courage, religion and racism. The distributer was by the Weinstein Company, The Weinstein brothers both strong believers of the Jewish religions, in Inglorious bastards the film shows the hardship of the Jewish people during the war and breaking the stereotype that they can't defend for the selves. The budget for Inglorious bastards was an estimate $75,000,000 with a total gross of $120,523,073.

Miracle at St. Anna is a war thriller that was written by James McBride who also wrote the novel and is Directed by Spike Lee. Miracle at St. Anna is another film that has a multiple narrative. In Miracle at St. Anna it starts of with a flashback to answer questions that the audiences has about the film and then returning to the beginning timeline. Miracle at St. Anna stars Derek Luke, Michael Ealy, Laz Alonso, Omar Benson Miller Valentina Cervi and Pierfrancesco Favino. The themes of Miracle at St. Anna are  love, family, hope, betrayal, disloyalty, gore, religion and racism. The Budget was an estimate $45,000,000. the Films was a box office failure only managing to draw in $9,000,000 worldwide.

The similarities of both films are that they both focus on a minority group and the hardship that they have lived through their lives, Quentin Tarantino using the Jewish faith and Spike Lee following the black minority. Neither group has really been seen as being a fighting force in War films. Inglorious bastards follows a group of Jewish fighters while Miracle at St. Anna looks at a group of black soldiers who themselves are treated worse than the enemy. They both have similar themes of violence, gore, religion and racism.  both film features a lot about religion, looking at a Jewish group in Inglorious bastards and in Miracle at St. Anna placing it in a very Catholic country, all four characters in the Miracle at St. Anna are religious with the least religious one being name Bishop.

Differences between is that they had very different budgets set with  Miracle at St. Anna having $45 Million while Inglorious bastards having $75 Million. This resulted in Spike Lee having a lower production value, which may of resulted in rushing scenes that could of been developed further. Another difference is that Inglorious bastards had more well known stars in leading roles which would draw in fans of some actors, while Miracle at St. Anna was using lesser known actor to save money. 
Inglorious bastards recieved various awards and returned nearly over double of the budget while MiracleSt. Anna failing at the box office.
