Doctor Strange is the latest film in the Marvel universe, previous films have included Captain America, Iron man, Thor, Ant-man, Guardian of the galaxy and The Avengers. This is the origin story of Doctor Strange, he will feature in other marvel films before having his his own second movie.  

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson, Scott is used to making horror films as me has directed films such as The Exorcism of Emily Rose,  Sinister and Deliver us from evil. Scott also directed the re-make of the 1951 classic The Day the Earth Stood Still.  

The beginning of Doctor Strange is seeing Benedict Cumberbatch save a persons life in a high risk situation and proving everyone wrong, this shows that Stephen Strange a arrogant confident narcissist. 

He also acts smarter than he is, when he first visits the temple in Nepal  he act disbelief towards everything he sees. 

Before Stephan Strange is in his car crash we get to see his extraordinary lifestyle, we get to focus on his hands on every task he performs. We see his hands when washing them, shaving, adjusting his bow-tie, putting in cuff-links and when he is putting on his watch. This shows how valuable his hands are to him before his accident. 

In the film Strange learns how freeze and reverse time. He also wears a broken watch at all times, this represents how he can break time. 

The budget for Doctor Strange was an estimate $165,000,000, the opening weekend was earned over $85,058,311 while it grossed $153,014,169 and counting.
