The Angel’s Share was directed Ken Loach. Ken Loach was born June 17, 1936 in Warwickshire. Apart from the Angels’ Share Ken has also directed Sweet Sixteen, The Wind that Shakes the Barley and I, Daniel Blake.  Ken has been nominated for 152 awards winning 91 of them; two of them were BAFTA Film Awards. Paul Brannigan is the protagonist of the film, The Angles’ Share was his first film that he has acted in, since then he has been in Under the Skin, Sunshine on Leith and Scottish Mussel. Paul won a BAFTA for his performance in the Angles’ Share.

The Group in the film all meet in community services this makes all of the characters are a group of misfits that have one thing In common which is that they are all criminals in some way.  They also have in common as they all share the same issue in life as they can’t afford a stable lifestyle, so in their lives they are used to stealing steal and committing crimes.


The Film is a crime comedy. The film follows the protagonist Robbie; Robbie is a criminal who has narrowly avoiding jail, he is struggling to get a job as he has an awful resume, he strangely has a talent for tasting Whisky. He is constantly being followed and beaten up, mainly by his fiancés family.
